"To be, or not to be. That is the question. Whether it is nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms agains the sea and in opposing, end it..."
That's not a direct quote, that's off the top of my head. But I did read that entire speech all of 3 times back in "the day", so I think it's pretty close to the original.
Anyhoo, my point is this...
When life straps on a boot. And I mean a BOOT. You know, straps up to the knee's, big hunking steel toe even on there. Well, when life straps on that boot, and then begins screwing pointed spikes into that boot. I'm talking about some mean spikes. Five inches long, and barbed just for you! And then on top of that smears a pain agent all over them so that the tiniest of scratches would equate to being burned alive in a searing flame that you could never escape, and that your nerves would never die off from or get used to... When life straps that bad boy on, and then rears back and kicks you harder than Pele, right smack in the testicles as it's done me so many times...well...I have to be honest.
I, myself, go down something akin to a $5 hooker, which is to say fast and hard. I don't go down because I want to, but because there's no option at all.
I have to imagine that, someday, I'll get up.
Until then, if anybody needs me, I'll be curled in upon myself in a little ball in the corner...
